Students Revamp Foreign Trade Zone for City of Nashville
ITED students Jennifer Romanin and Gunther Errhalt working with Professor Warren Small aided in re-engineering the proposal for a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) in Nashville Tennessee. The focus of the project was to develop a more effective approach to incorporating small and medium size enterprises into the Nashville FTZ, offering them greater access to participate more fully in the global economy.
Student Help Draft New Trade Law for Myanmar
ITED students Cameron Small, Richard Nworah, and Brigid Flay collaborated with faculty members Robert Rogowsky and Wes Small on a project to draft new trade legislation for the government of Myanmar. The project came together when Program Co-Chair Robert Rogowsky was contracted by the U.S. Agency for International Development to comment on draft legislation proffered by the government of Myanmar.Together they re-drafted the law as well as drafting the administrative procedures needed to implement the law.
Students Meet With Key Trade Officials In Geneva
Given the opportunity to customize their own immersive learning experience, six Institute’s International Trade and Economic Diplomacy students designed and executed a week-long trip to Geneva, Switzerland over spring break that saw them meet with leading officials at organizations including the World Trade Organization (WTO) and United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
